This week has been a blur. I feel like I have been almost constantly in work-mode since Saturday morning (I think). It is all work I enjoy and people that I like being around, but I don't feel like I'm in the "normal" world. Maybe it's due to the weird sleep schedule and eating patterns - usually up till 3am (maybe 5am) and going constantly. The opportunities to work on projects I enjoy have abounded this week - I think I have freelance projects to last through March (I think I can manage the time to do them outside of my internship and barista job). I also had a graphic design job offer today (which I had to turn down due to these committments I have at least until May or so). I don't feel over-worked & exhausted. I'm actually enjoying the work and I don't get worn out (except maybe learning CSS & XHTML). This week I have been adjusting to the new schedule - I've worked a little more than I will be next week & in the future.
I am going to a grand opening party tonight for a company I interviewed with back in July. It's called Shiny Object, and they finally got their website up. They do some cool motion graphic work. Check 'em out. There's also a 502 alumni meeting/gathering in Gruene, Texas on Saturday. That should be fun. Soon I'll have some work to post, but nothing this week.

rollin, rollin, rollin
So I finished the holiday internship at Shoehorn Design yesterday. It was fun. I really enjoyed working in a small company with other creative people. There is no competition & everyone kind of does there own thing. I like that. Next week I start an internship at Action Figure here in Austin. Yea! I really admire their work. They combine graphic design, multimedia & motion graphics, which is what I would like to be able to do, or at least learn to think that way. The barista job at JP's Java is going well. I feel really comfortable there. I enjoy being around college kids again, getting to do work that is easy & non-creative, and having the free time to work on my own projects/internships. I'm still getting used to the new schedule - sleep, eat, work - all of which have not been regular for a long time. It's going really good though. I'm looking forward to a semester where I'm doing work that I enjoy, learning & pursuing creative things that I am inspired by, get to hang out with friends & have funds to do things (even though my free time will be sparatic). I also have a freelance logo & identity project lined up for this month. I'm designing an identity for a friend who is opening up a coffee shop, possibly helping do environmental design & signage + more (whatever I can think of/they can afford). It will be a great project. It's awesome to work with fun, flexible clients who have an interesting creative project to work on - total creative freedom & design work that really makes a difference/has a purpose in the real world.
Here is a brochure I designed yesterday at Shoehorn. It's just a comp so far. I'll find out this week if the client picked it. It was fun. I enjoy designing it. It's fun when you don't have the pressure to please the client because they're not paying you. :)
